Cuprija 1898 – Beograd 1980
  • 1898. Rodjen je u gradjanskoj porodici i kao mladic je prosao povlacenje preko Albanije.
  • 1916. Nastavio je skolovanje u Grenoblu i Nici, kao mnoga deca i mladici iz okupirane Srbije. Saradjivao je u Radnickim novinama.
  • 1917–1921. Studirao je na Filoloskom fakultetu u Parizu.
  • 1922. Diplomirao je filozofiju na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu. Bio je saradnik u avangardnim revijama Zenit i Putevi.
  • 1924–1937. Radio je kao profesor filozofije u gimnaziji.
  • 1925. Upoznao je A. Bretona u Parizu. Saradjivao je u casopisu Svedocanstva.
  • 1930. Bio je potpisnik manifesta i jedan od pokretaca i urednika almanaha Nemoguce– Læimpossible. Tu je objavio fotokolaz Mutan lov u bistroj vodi.
  • 1931–1932. Saradjivao je u casopisu Nadrealizam danas i ovde, a medju likovnim prilozima je i njegov kolaz Ja sam nize no pesak ove noci.
  • 1931. Sa O. Davicom i Dj. Kosticem napisao je knjigu Polozaj nadrealizma u drustvenom procesu.
  • 1933. Poema La pèche trouble dans læeau izasla je u casopisu Le surréalisme au service de la révolution (br. 6, 31–32). Objavio je, sa A. Vucom, fotomontaz e i predgovor u knjizi za decu Podvizi druzine "Pet petlica".
  • 1935. Zajedno sa A. Vucom objavio je poemu Marija Rucara.
  • 1937. Posle dva politicka hapsenja, bez osude, penzionisan je.
  • 1940. Sa A. Vucom izdao je roman Gluvo doba.
  • 1941. Proveo je neko vreme u Banjickom logoru u Beogradu.
  • 1945–1948. Radio je u redakciji izdavackog preduzeca "Prosveta" i u Radio Beogradu.
  • 1948–1967. Bio je profesor na Akademiji za pozoriste, film, radio i televiziju u Beogradu.
  • 1954. Izasla je zbirka njegovih pesama Bagdala.
  • 1959. Objavio je knjigu pesama Budjenje materije.
  • 1962. Izdao je novu knjigu poezije Laza i paralaz a.
  • 1965. Postao je dopisni clan SANU, a 1972. godine izabran je za redovnog clana.
  • 1966. Ranije objavljene radove sakupio je u knjizi Izbor tekstova.
  • 1967. Izdao je Knjigu rituala.
  • 1977. Objavio je knjigu secanja Proslost dugo traje. Napisao je veliki broj eseja, filozofskih rasprava, kritika i scenarija za radio–emisije.

  • 1898 Né dans une famille bourgeoise, il suit, encore jeune, la retraite de l’armée serbe à travers l’Albanie.
  • 1916 Poursuit ses études à Grenoble et à Nice, avec de nombreux autres enfants et jeunes hommes de Serbie alors occupée. Collabore à Radnicke novine (Journal des ouvriers).
  • 1917–1921 Etudie à la faculté de langues de Paris.
  • 1922 Termine ses études de philosophie à la faculté de lettres de Belgrade. Collabore aux revues d’avant –garde Zenit et Putevi (Chemins).
  • 1924–1937 Professeur de philosophie dans un lycée.
  • 1925 Fait connaissance avec A. Breton à Paris. Collabre à la revue Svedocanstva (Témoignages).
  • 1930 Il signe le manifeste et est un des fondateurs et rédacteurs de l’almanach Nemoguce – L’Impossible. Il y publie le photo–collage Mutan lov u bistroj vodi (La pêche trouble dans l’eau claire).
  • 1931–1932 Collaborateur de la revue Nadrealizam danas i ovde (Le Surréalisme aujourd’hui et ici), où, parmi les suppléments peints, se trouve son collage Ja sam nize no pesak ove noci (Je suis plus bas que le sable cette nuit).
  • 1931 Avec O. Davico et Dj. Kostic il écrit le livre Polozaj nadrealizma u drustvenom procesu (Position du surréalisme dans le processus social)
  • 1933 Publication du poème La pêche trouble dans l’eau claire dans la revue Le surréalisme au service de la révolution (no. 6, 31–32). Il publie avec A. Vuco des photomontages et une préface pour le livre pour enfants Les exploits de la compagnie ” Les cinq petits coqs ”.
  • 1935 Avec A. Vuco, Matic publie le poème Marija Rucara.
  • 1937 Après deux arrestations pour son engagement politique, il est mis à la retraite.
  • 1940 Il publie avec A. Vuco le roman Gluvo doba (Vers minuit).
  • 1941 Il est emprisonné quelques temps dans le camp de Banjica à Belgrade.
  • 1945–1948 Travaille dans la rédaction de l’entreprise d’éditions ” Prosveta ” et à Radio Beograd.
  • 1948–1967 Professeur de l’Académie de théâtre, film, radio et télévision à Belgrade.
  • 1954 Publication de son recueil de poèmes Bagdala.
  • 1959 Matic publie le livre de poèmes Laza i paralaz a.
  • 1965 Devient membre honoraire de la SANU, et membre régulier en 1972.
  • 1966 Matic réunit ses oeuvres publiées antérieurement dans le livre Izbor tekstova (Choix de textes).
  • 1967 Il publie Knjiga rituala (Le livre de rites).
  • 1977 Publication d’un livre de mémoires Proslost dugo traje (Le passé dure longtemps). Matic est l’auteur de nombreux essais, études philosophiques, critiques et scénarios pour la radio.

  • 1898 Born into a middle class family, takes part in the retreat across Albania as a young man.
  • 1916 Continues his education in Grenoble and Nice, like many other children and young men from occupied Serbia. Contributes to Radnicke novine (Workers’ Paper).
  • 1917–1921 Studies at the Faculty of Philology in Paris.
  • 1922 Graduates philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Contributes to the avant–garde reviews Zenit (Zenith) and Roads.
  • 1924–1937 Teaches philosophy in high school.
  • 1925 Meets A. Breton in Paris. Contributes to Testimonies.
  • 1930 A signatory of the manifesto and one of the founders and editors of the almanac Nemoguce – L’impossible, where his photocollage Mutan lov u bistroj vodi (Murky Fishing in Clear Waters) is published.
  • 1931–1932 Contributes to Surrealism Here and Now, the fine arts contributions including his collage Ja sam nize no pesak ove noci (I am Lower Than the Sand Tonight).
  • 1931 With O. Davico and Dj. Kostic writes the book The Position of Surrealism in the Social Process.
  • 1933 His long poem La peche trouble dans L’eau comes out in Le surréalisme au service de la révolution (No. 6, 31–32). With A. Vuco publishes photomontages and the foreword to the book for children The Exploits of the “Five Cockerels” Gang.
  • 1935 With A. Vuco publishes the long poem Marija Rucara.
  • 1937 Sent into retirement after two political arrests without convictions.
  • 1940 With A. Vuco publishes the novel In the Dead of the Night.
  • 1941 Spends some time in the Banjica camp in Belgrade.
  • 1945–1948 Works on the editorial board of the Prosveta publishing house and in Radio Belgrade.
  • 1948–1967 Works as a professor at the Theater, Film, Radio and Television Academy in Belgrade.
  • 1954 Publication of Bagdala, a book of poems.
  • 1959 Publishes a book of poetry – Busenje materije (The Awakening of Matter).
  • 1962 Publishes a new book of poetry, Laza i paralaz a (Liar and Arch–liar).
  • 1965 Becomes a corresponding member of the SANU and is elected a regular member in 1972.
  • 1966 Compiles his earlier published works in the book Izbor tekstvoa (Selected Texts).
  • 1967 Publishes Knjiga rituala (The Book of Rituals).
  • 1977 Publishes a book of recollections Proslost dugo traje (The Past Lasts a Long Time). He wrote a large number of essays, philosophical treatises, reviews and radio program scripts.
