Nikola Vuco Belgrade 1902 – 1993 1902. Rodjen je kao cetvrti sin Djordja i Ifigenije (Aleksandar, Milan, Stevan) u trgovac koj porodici. 1915–1918. U toku rata skolovao se u Marseju, Nici, Kanu i Pariz, zajedno sa ostalom srpskom decom koja su nasla zastitu u Francuskoj. 1919. Vratio se u Beograd i zavrsio gimnaziju. 1920. Mihailo Vuco, polubrat, ostavio mu je fotografsku kameru. 1921–1925. Studirao je pravo, ekonomiju i sociologiju u Parizu i uzima privatne casove klavira. Upoznao je francuske nadrealiste, a posebno je bio blizak sa Filipom Supoom. 1925–1927. Po zavrsetku studija ostao je izvesno vreme u Parizu gde nastaju njegove prve fotografije. Putovao je sa bratom Milanom u Spaniju. 1928. Otvorio je advokatsku kancelariju u Beogradu. 1929. Ozenio se Jelkom Nikolic koja je bila model u seriji njegovih fotografija. Dobili su kci Ljubicu. 1930. Intenzivno je saradjivao sa M. Risticem i objavio je fotografije u almanahu Nemoguce–L`impossible: Zaustavljeno bekstvo nadstvarnosti, Zlatan presek obmane, Zid agnosticizma, Mi nemamo koga da ubedjujemo, kao i nekoliko bez naslova, mada zvanicno nije bio clan grupe i potpisnik manifesta. 1941–1945. Proveo je u nemackim kaznenim logorima kao ratni vojni zarobljenik. 1947. Na novoosnovanom Ekonomskom fakultetu u Beogradu izabran je za profesora ekonomske istorije. Objavio je niz znacajnih knjiga i naucnih studija iz te oblasti. 1948. U novom braku sa Zoranom Ivanic dobio je kcer Gordanu (Beku). 1988. Poklonio je Muzeju primenjene umetnosti u Beogradu kolekciju negativa snimljenih u Parizu i Beogradu izmedju 1926. i 1930. godine. 1990. Prvi put su izlagane njegove fotografije na medjunarodnoj izlozbi Recontres internationales de la photographie d`Arles i u Museum moderner Kunst u Becu. 1991. Prisustvovao je svojoj prvoj izlozbi fotografija u Muzeju primenjene umetnosti u Beogradu. 2002. U toku rada na izlozbi Nemoguce, umetnost nadrealizma 1926–1936 u Muzeju primenjene umetnosti u Beogradu pronadjene su i njegove originalne nadrealisticke fotografije iz 1929–30. godine. Po zatvaranju izlozbe one su prikljucene kolekciji negativa, kao poklon Muzeju od gospodje Jelene Jovanovic, rodjake Marka Ristica.

Nikola Vuco Belgrade 1902 – 1993 1902 Naissance de Nikola Vuco, quatrième fils de Djordje et Ifigenija (Aleksandar, Milan, Stevan) dans une famille de commerœants. 1915–1918 Il fait ses études à Marseille, Nice, Cannes et à Paris avec d’autres enfants serbes accueillis par la France durant la guerre. 1919 Vuco rentre à Belgrade où il termine le lycée. 1920 Mort de Mihailo Vuco, son demi–frère, qui lui laisse son appareil photographique. 1921–1925 Il étudie le droit, la sociologie et l’économie à Paris, mais prend aussi des cours de piano. Fait connaissance avec des surréalistes parisiens, notamment Philippe Soupault. 1925–1927 Ses études achevées, il reste encore quelques temps à Paris où il fait ses premières photographies. Il voyage en Espagne avec son frère Milan. 1928 Il ouvre un bureau d’avocat à Belgrade. 1929 Epouse Jelka Nikolic qui pose pour lui dans une série de photographies. Naissance de sa fille Ljubica. 1930 Collabore intensivement avec M. Ristic et publie dans l’almanach Nemoguce – L’impossible ses photographies : Zaustavljeno bekstvo nadstvarnosti (Fuite retenue du surréel), Zlatan presek obmane (Coupe d’or de l’illusion), Zid agnosticizma (Le Mur de l’agnosticisme), Mi nemamo koga da ubedjujemo (Nous n’avons personne à convaincre), et d’autres sans titre, bien que n’étant pas officiellement membre du groupe des surréalistes et signataire du Manifeste. 1941–1945 Prisonnier en Allemagne durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. 1947 Il est nommé professeur d’histoire économique à la faculté d’économie de Belgrade nouvellement fondée. Il publie une série de travaux et études dans ce domaine. 1948 D’un second mariage avec Zorana Ivanic il a une fille Gordana (Beka). 1988 Fait don au Musée des arts décoratifs de Belgrade de négatifs pris entre 1926 et1930. 1990 Première exposition de ses photographies lors des Rencontres internationales de la photographie à Arles et au Museum moderner Kunst à Vienne. 1991 Nikola Vuco assiste à l’exposition de ses photographies au Musée des arts décoratifs de Belgrade. 2002 Lors des préparatifs de l’expositon Nemoguce, umetnost nadrealizma (L’impossible, l’art du surréalisme) au Musée des arts décoratifs de Belgrade, ses photographies surréalistes originales de 1926–1930 ont été retrouvées. A la fermeture de l’exposition elles resteront dans la collection de négatifs du musée en tant que don de Madame Jelena Jovanovic, cousine de Marko Ristic.

Meets the French Surrealists and is especially close to Philippe Soupault. 1925–1927 Having completed his studies, he remains in Paris for a while and makes his first photographs there. Travels to Spain with his brother Milan. 1928 Opens a law firm in Belgrade. 1929 Marries Jelka Nikolic, who modeled for a series of his photographs. A daughter, Ljubica, is born to them. 1930 Intensively collaborates with M. Ristic and publishes the photographs: Zadrzano bekstvo nadstvarnosti (The Arrested Flight of Surreality), Zlatan presek obmane (The Golden Section of Deception), Zid agnosticizma (The Wall of Agnosticism), Mi nemamo koga da ubedjujemo (We Need Not Convince Anyone) and several untitled ones in the almanac Nemoguce – L’impossible, although not officially a member of the group or a signatory of the manifesto. 1941–1945 Held as a prisoner of war in German POW camps. 1947 Elected professor of the history of economics at the just founded Faculty of Economics in Belgrade. Publishes a number of important books and scientific papers in that field. 1948 Marries Zorana Ivanic and a daughter, Gordana (Beka) is born to them. 1988 Donates a collection of negatives of photographs taken in Paris and Belgrade between 1926 and 1930 to the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. 1990 His photographs are exhibited for the first time at the international exhibition Recontres internationales de la photographie d’Arles and in the Museum moderner Kunst in Vienna. 1991 Attends his first exhibition of photographs at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. 2002 During the preparation of the exhibition The Impossible, 1926–1936 Surrealist Art at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade, his original Surrealist photographs from to 1929–30 were found. After the exhibition closed they were added to the collection of negatives, a donation to the Museum from Mrs. Jelena Jovanovic, art historian and a relative of Marko Ristic.
