Bijelo Polje, 1903 – Beograd, 1954.

  • 1903. Rodjen je u trgovackoj porodici.
  • 1923. Maturirao je u Novom Pazaru.
  • 1923. Studirao je neredovno na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu provodeci najvise vremena sa avangardnim pesnicima. Objavio je prve pesme u casopisima Nova pesnicka smotra, Umetnost.
  • 1925. Sa B. Jovanovicem pokrenuo je list Bela revija, a almanah Casa vode sa D. Blagojevicem i P. Starcevicem.
  • 1926. Sa Moni de Bulijem osnovao je casopis Vecnost i bio njegov urednik.
  • 1927. Izasla mu je prva zbirka pesama Mrtve rukavice. Saradjivao je u "radnicko umetnickom almanahu" Novi istok.
  • 1928–1931. Radio je u Ministarstvu prosvete, a zatim u Ministarstvu spoljnih poslova u Beogradu.
  • 1929. Saradjivao je sa mnogim casopisima objavljujuci socijalnu prozu i poeziju.
  • 1932. Dobio je nagradu Srpskog knjizevnog glasnika za najbolju pripovetku objavljenu u tom casopisu – "Zlatan osmeh nad Sanwakom".
  • 1936. Diplomirao je na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu. Saradjivao je u casopisu Nasa stvarnost pod pseudonimom Vukadin Trpkovic.
  • 1938–1945. Bio je u Francuskoj, SSSR–u i Egiptu u diplomatskoj sluzbi.
  • 1945. Po povratku u Beograd pise eseje i bavi se prevodjenjem.
  • 1952. Objavio je zbirku pesama Dodiri.

  • 1903 Naissance dans une famille de commerœants. Passe son baccalauréat à Novi Pazar.
  • 1923 Etudie de façon irrégulière à la faculté de lettres de Belgrade. Il passe beaucoup de temps avec les poètes d’avant–garde. Publie ses premiers poèmes dans les revues Nova pesnicka smotra (Nouvelle revue poètique), Umetnost (L’art).
  • 1925 Avec B. Jovanovic, il lance Bela revija (La revue blanche), et avec D. Blagojevic et P. Starcevic l’almanach Casa vode (Verre d’eau).
  • 1926 Avec Monny de Boully, Ratkovic fonde la revue Vecnost (L’étérnité) dont il devient rédacteur.
  • 1927 Publication de son premier recueil de poèmes Mrtve rukavice (Les gants morts). Collabore à l’” almanach ouvrier–artistique ” Novi istok (Nouveau est).
  • 1928–1931 Employé au ministère de l’Education nationale, puis au ministère des Affaires étrangères à Belgrade.
  • 1929 Collabore à plusieurs revues dans lesquelle il publie une prose et poésie sociale.
  • 1932 Prix de Srpski knjizevni glasnik pour le meilleur récit publié dans cette revue> Zlatan osmeh nad Sandzakom (Sourire d’or sur le Sandzak).
  • 1936 Termine ses études à la faculté de lettres de Belgrade. Collaborateur de la revue Notre réalité sous le pseudonyme Vukadin Trpkovic.
  • 1938–1945 Diplomate en France, URSS et Egypte.
  • 1945 De retour à Belgrade il écrit des essais et il fait des traductions.
  • 1952 Publication d’un recueil de poèmes Dodiri (Les touches).

  • 1903 Born into a merchant family.
  • 1923 Graduates from high school in Novi Pazar.
  • 1923 Studies irregularly at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, spending most of his time with avant–garde poets. Publishes his first poems in the magazines Nova pesnicka smotra (New Poetic Review), Umetnost (Art).
  • 1925 With B. Jovanovic starts the paper Bela revija (White Review), and the almanac Casa vode (A Glass of Water) with D. Blagojevic and P. Starcevic.
  • 1926 With Monny de Boully founds and edits the magazine Eternity.
  • 1927 His first book of poems Mrtve rukavice (The Dead Gloves) comes out. Contributes to the “workers’ art almanac” Novi istok (The New East).
  • 1928–1931 Works in the Ministry of Education and then in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgrade.
  • 1929 Contributes to numerous journals, publishing social prose and poetry.
  • 1932 Receives the award of the Serbian Literary Herald for the best story published in that journal – Zlatan Osmeh nad Sandzakom (A Golden Smile Above Sanjak).
  • 1936 Graduates from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Contributes to the magazine Our Reality under the pen name Vukadin Trpkovic.
  • 1938–1945 Works as a diplomat in France, the USSR and Egypt.
  • 1945 Upon returning to Belgrade writes essays and translates.
  • 1952 Publishes the book of poems Dodiri (Contacts).
